From a half-day with the family to a mini-raid with a night in a refuge or bivouac, I suggest you trudge to discover Ariège and its range of forests, summer pastures, cabins or lakes.
On the routes, we also taste the local flavors, meet the actors of the pastoral economy or observe the fauna. On the trails or on snowshoes, I offer suitable discoveries all year round, between 300 and 3000m altitude! To you the massifs of Tabe, Vicdessos, the Plateau de Sault, the Pays d'Olmes and Mirepoix!
As an indication and example, here is what a day hike can be, knowing that I adapt to your request:
Day hikes: (proposal according to demand, type of group)
-Family hike around the castle of Roquefixade (3h walk): orientation game, in the footsteps of the remains of Catharism, dry stone huts, a cave and animal tracks. Starting from 7 years old.
-Pastoral hike, between Montségur and the Taulat ridge (4h walk, 400 m elevation gain and 8km): local history, Moulzoune pond, talc mines, jasse de Taulat, view of Montségur and the Tabe massif. From the age of 8
-Mountain hike at the foot of Soularac (5h walk, 700 to 900m of elevation gain, 7km): rhododendrons, Appy pond (1730m), pastoral hut, 1 to 2 passes in the Ariège Pyrenees (1955 and 2030m). From 12 years old.
