1 - Departure of the hike from Ax-les-Thermes

Go up the Oriège river along the Termes du Teich, the avenue Durandeau then the rue du Cournilh which joins the RN20. Cross it to take rue St-Udaut opposite which joins the steep chemin d'Entresserres on the left.

2 - Take the track in the woods

The street turns into a track that winds through the woods.
After a trough, find the intersection with the GR107 at the level of the barns Provides.

3 - Junction

Follow the GR107 (red and white markings) on the right to reach the gate of Orgeix, opening the view of the deep Oriège valley.

4 - The gate of Orgeix

Get off at Orgeix.

5 - Orgeix

Cross the pretty stone bridge spanning the Oriège and follow the GRP (yellow and red markings) along the wide flat path along the river.

6 - Go past Lake Campauleil

Go past Lake Campauleil and continue along the path through the woods.

7 - Go through the Rocher de la Vierge to reach the starting point

Go down the road until you pass under the train bridge then turn left on a path which will lead to the RN20 which you cross (caution).
To the left then to the right, the marked circuit proposes the ascent to the Rocher de la Vierge (beautiful view of Ax-les-Thermes) and ends at the bottom station of the gondola.
