The hike to the pond and the Bésines refuge stands out for the beauty of its landscapes but also its fauna and flora. A popular place for fishing, the pond is in the shade of the pines that surround it.

Refuge

1 - Parking

Park in the village. Pass in front of the stage lodge and access the path (GR107) to reach the RN22 which you cross and follow to the right. At about 50 m, take a track on the left which climbs the embankment. After two switchbacks, the trail slowly climbs up the mountainside.

2 - Junction

Ignore the GR107 which goes towards the Col de Puymorens and continue straight on its variant (GR107C marked in red and white). The path comes out of the woods and passes through the rhododendrons to the Bessateil jasse then re-enters under the trees (Bois Long). The path suddenly becomes a little more marked but nothing really difficult. Continue to follow this path well marked in red and white to reach the pond dam.

3 - Bésines dam

Go around the lake to the right (no doubt, the red and white markings are very well indicated) to arrive, after passing the Jasse du Pla, at the Bésines refuge.

4 - Refuge

For the return, follow the same route to reach the car park.
