The Wool Guinguette

Our story begins with a shared passion for this noble material that is wool, and a deep commitment to local breeders. We created "Le Fil de la Guinguette", a project which aims to restore wool to its authentic value, from the farm to the needles, from the sheep to creation.
In our approach, we work in close collaboration with breeders in Occitania, aware of the importance of preserving and promoting this ancestral know-how. The wool is carefully harvested, then transported to the last multi-purpose spinning mill in Ariège, where it is transformed into yarn.
At La Guinguette de la Laine, our commitment does not stop there. We take pleasure in dyeing this yarn in our workshops, using vegetable dyes partly from our wild harvests and our garden of dye plants, offering natural and unique colors to our creations, impregnated with the vibrant and powdery colors of our region. .
But La Guinguette de la Laine is not limited to being a simple place of production. It is also a space for creation and sharing, where three wool artisans have come together to bring their passions to life. Mamette Laine, Christel Gonzales and Anne Ferrié from Nature&Création as well as Ben Touzet from Ull, put their talent at the service of promoting traditional and modern know-how, together they created the "BAM" brand.
In our store, you will discover a selection of unique products, ranging from skeins of wool to circular looms, including original artisanal creations: coats, skirts, sweaters and small series of clothes.

Finally, for those wishing to learn more about wool professions, we offer educational courses and workshops, where everyone can learn the techniques of knitting, spinning, weaving, crochet and much more.
