The Tabariane site will immerse you in the Merovingian era. Archaeological work has brought to light 166 burials. The site of this necropolis is fitted out with interpretive panels illustrating the very ancient human occupation.

The tombs are oriented (head facing east). Most of them are wooden box burials and some are double. The furniture accompanying the deceased mainly includes belt buckle plates, scramasaxes (swords), fibulae, glass beads, etc. The dating of these objects makes it possible to provide a chronological range of occupation of this site between the beginning of the XNUMXth century and the end of the following century, which places the necropolis of Tabariane in the Merovingian culture. Other objects of this type have been found in the communication axis of the Hers valley (Malegoude, Manses and Mirepoix). Today the site, redesigned by a landscape architect, is accessible to the public.
