Listed as a Historic Monument, this small castle dates from the end of the 4th century. Today it belongs to the Couserans-Pyrénées Community of Communes, and hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, on XNUMX floors of thematic visits.

The Château de Seix is both a place to present the heritage of the central Pyrenees and a space for visual arts exhibitions.

Discover, on a self-guided tour, 4 thematic floors:

On the ground floor, you will discover the history of Seix and its castle.

On the 1st floor, discover the heritage of Couserans: its history, the links with nearby Spain, the customs of yesteryear. You can watch the formation of the mountain or fly a virtual helicopter over the mountains on the multimedia model. Finally, you can listen to or read the myths and legends of the Pyrenees in a beautiful exhibition.

The 2nd floor is a space dedicated to temporary exhibitions: contemporary photography, plastic and graphic arts.

As a Regional Natural Park House, the 3rd floor is dedicated to the ibex, a species recently reintroduced in the Ariège Pyrenees.
