You have chosen the wild nature which gives the Ariège Pyrenees its strength and its profound originality for a great test.
This land in the very south of Occitania, between nature and mountains, will lead you on the paths of men and their hopes to discover effort and courage.
If running semi-autonomously over long distances has attracted you for a short or long time... if running is synonymous with discovery for you, this sporting event is for you!
Because, to the rhythm of your steps, you will discover in sport a country with a proud past, once marked by a colorful, exciting and endearing history. But, beyond the attraction of the authentic charms of the route, the participant in the UltrAriège will not be able to escape the harshness of the route.
Our challenge today is yours. You will find harmony between nature and passion, pleasure and effort because there is nothing flat about Ariège.
If UltrAriège means rediscovering this nature by running, by walking and in this effort our roots...
From Romanesque chapels to the last breath of Catharism, from forgotten orris to villages clinging to the side of mountains,
laughing soulanes with narrow and dark valleys, castles rich in character, secret edges of altitude, grassy paths with harsh and rocky paths... it is also, going to meet the earth and the pure air, water and light…just for freedom, just for pleasure!
So, let yourself be guided and set off in sport to discover an authentic heritage…. Let's go together, in the footsteps of peddlers, Cathar shepherds, miners, smugglers, lumberjacks, bear handlers, legendary castles...
But these moments of happiness to share with nature we also owe to the passion of the men and women who around you, among us, have been working for several months already. They communicate the love they have for their valleys, but also the desire to welcome with warmth and generosity.

Additional Information :
It is important that runners who register are aware of the difficulties of the course, of the conditions they may encounter (length of the route, difference in altitude, bad weather conditions, part of the race at night, etc.) and are in good physical condition during the day of the test.
