The story, sadly banal, is about family violence and the devastating effects of internalized and social homophobia. The Brazilian Rodrigo Portella accentuates its intimate dimension and its political significance. The exuberance of the bodies, the ordinary violence and the homophobia that characterize Brazil are injected into the characters and electrify their relationships: they face each other and challenge each other, in a dangerous, sensual joust, which reveals their dark and their contradictions.

In this punchy play, a real theatrical thriller, the actors embody uncompromising convictions, with a violence that mixes fear, desire and anger. They shift the public's gaze and offer a unique, visceral, unforgettable experience.

Created in Canada, Michel Marc Bouchard's play has been staged many times and brought to the screen by filmmaker Xavier Dolan. The version by Rodrigo Portella, the famous Brazilian director, receives a triumphant welcome: it is one of the most acclaimed and awarded plays in the world in 2017 and 2018, and a success in France since its release at the off d Avignon in 2022.

Compagnie Quadrovivo was founded by actor-producer Armando Babaioff. He initiated the creation of Tom on the farm, of which he is the producer, translator and protagonist. Attached to artistic freedom and human rights, he leads committed projects that aim in particular to denounce the reality of persecution in Brazil.
