Meet in the Cathar Pyrenees for the 36th edition of the MIMA Festival, an international event dedicated to contemporary puppetry, the second largest festival dedicated to puppets in France.

In the heart of the medieval city of Mirepoix and in the municipalities of the Cathar Pyrenees, the 36th MIMA festival will host shows (indoors and outdoors), an exhibition, practical workshops, professional meetings, concerts, a creators' market and restaurateurs, an off-the-beaten-track festival... A unique atmosphere linking remarkable heritage sites and artistic excellence!

MIMA is an international festival dedicated to puppet theatre. Every year since 1988 and for 4 days, the medieval city of Mirepoix and the surrounding villages are taken over by surprising, audacious shows aimed at all audiences.

Not hesitating to create bridges with the circus, dance, plastic arts, theater, the puppet is innovative and takes a sensitive look at the current world.

To accompany the shows, the festival offers workshops, a creators' market, cabaret and dance evenings and a staged city for the occasion!

In the heart of the medieval city of Mirepoix, but also in the municipalities of the Pays de Mirepoix and the town of Lavelanet, the 2024 festival will host shows (indoors and outdoors), an exhibition, professional meetings, a creators' market and restaurateurs...

On the program: 19 companies (10 regional & 9 national), 20 shows, 10 performance venues between Mirepoix, Lavelanet, Pays de Mirepoix & Pays d'Olmes.

The rendezvous of discovery and encounter with the current puppet: visual theater, gesture, objects, images, art-plastic, digital art, circus, live music...

As part of the MIMA festival from August 1 to 4, the festival is relocating and the Land of Art and History of the Cathar Pyrenees is joining forces to offer “heritage breaks” introductory to shows in the villages of the Cathar Pyrenees.
