Transhumance festivals: accompanying herds in the mountains (sheep, cattle, horses, Mérens), entertainment, convivial meals, folkloric shows, in the heart of the Pyrenees, in Haut-Couserans (border region to the west of Ariège ).

FESTIVE TRANSHUMANCES DAY IN HAUT-SALAT
Saturday June 15 2024
9 a.m.: Sheep shearing demonstration
From 10 a.m.: Grand parade: folk groups/arrival of herds
12 p.m.: Catered meal upon registration (menu and online reservations below) or sale of grilled meats on site
18 p.m. to 20 p.m.: Free aperitif-concert on the square, hosted by André Allibert
20 p.m.: Shepherds’ meal: a festive moment to end this beautiful day. Meal-concert upon registration (menu and online reservations below), hosted by the Columbia Orchestra, approximately 3h30, a style focused on current variety and all the musical and festive trends of the moment.

FOLLOW A FLOCK IN TRANSHUMANCE: the sheep of Gisèle Boisé Departure Thursday June 13 > Betchat towards Saint-Lizier
Friday June 14 > Saint-Lizier to Oust
Saturday June 15 > the herd comes to parade in Seix
Sunday June 16 > Departure from Oust between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. towards the village of Salau.
Possibility of catching up with the herd between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Couflens during their break (do not leave too early: the herd takes the road!!!)
