The Moulzoune pond and the old talc mines of Fangas and Porteille.

The surroundings of the pond have been laid out with picnic tables and barbecues. The pond is artificial and is used for the breeding of Atlantic salmon (swimming prohibited).

FORMER TALC MINES: Just above the pond, the old talc mines have left a few scars on the slopes: the ruins of the huts recall the life of the former miners who exploited the open pit mine.

THE STONE OF THE SACRIFICE: according to a local legend, it would be an altar of sacrifice marked with crosses still visible around its perimeter. View of the Monts d'Olmes ski resort.

Access by the Monts d'Olmes road, mine forest path, on the left, to the car park. Allow 20 minutes to reach the pond and 20 minutes more for the old mine. A 6-hour hike (good walkers) From Montferrier, hikes for good walkers to the highest points of the Tabe massif: Mount Fourcat (2001m) and the peak of Saint-Barthélemy (2348m).
