Close to Toulouse and Carcassonne, the Ariège Pyrenees contain many caves to allow you to take your students in prehistory class to meet our ancestors, the Magdalenians. They will discover their primitive environment thanks to the visit of the famous cave of Niaux or Bédeilhac. They will also rub shoulders with their habits and customs by trying out workshops such as hunting, cave art, archeology ... and they will approach the giants of the Ice Age at the Prehistory Park. This stay for children is developed in consultation with the teachers and is organized into thematic modules that bring together fun and educational activities.

1 - Workshops at the Prehistory Park, depending on the module
We suggest you spend 3 days in the Prehistory Park and visit, during this stay, the caves of Niaux (cycles 1 and 2) or Bédeilhac. You can choose between 2 thematic modules:
Module 1: the art of prehistory.
Module 2: life during prehistory.
Each module provides during the first morning, a personalized welcome presenting the Park and the content of the stay (reconstruction, participatory workshops, guided tours). A slide show will expose the general frameworks of prehistory: chronology, man, environment and will present the chosen theme.
- Art Workshop: manufacture of pigment, furniture, ornaments, bone work.
- Modeling and engravings workshop.
- Work of the skin workshop.
- Music Workshop.
- Fire lighting workshop.
- Flint cutting workshop.
- Hunting workshop.
For your accommodation, we have selected collective accommodation centers approved by DDCSPP / National Education.
Evening entertainment: an evening of Ariège tales and legends.
