Filheit Lake

Pleasant lake of 62 hectares located near the Mas d'Azil.
The Filheit reservoir is used for agriculture (irrigation).
It is also an ideal place for fishing: Classified in 2nd category, compulsory fishing license for fishing on the lake and for crayfish fishing, (belonging to federal lots), possession of the Halieutic Club sticker is compulsory, launching for electric motors only, Nearest point of sale (for maps and vignettes): Arize Leze Tourist Office at Mas d'Azil. Easy access (by car) as well as a good population of predators (perch, pike and zander) and white fish allow us to hope for a development in the number of visitors to these sites. A launching area is accessible next to the lake dike on the north shore on the D1 linking the villages of Montegut Plantaurel and Mas d'Azil. Since the spring of 2022, the Tour du Lac hiking/mountain biking loop has been practicable: around 8km of pleasant walks alternating between passage in the woods and near the banks of the lake.
