Located between the two Hers locks, Lesparrou occupies a site of confluence of waters.

Divided between a landscape of forest, west slope, and sub-Mediterranean scrubland, east slope, the village and its hamlets are surrounded by streams born from springs springing from the limestone and marl soils of Plantaurel.

Like the Touyre for textiles, the Hers is the river which supplied the horn comb manufacturing factories and the jet industry. Jet is a shiny black rock, used in jewelry design at the turn of the century. Today the jet deposits of the Pays d'Olmes are exhausted, however we still find fragments of jet in some woods of Lesparrou.
