Urs is a small picturesque village which can be accessed directly from National Route 20 from the villages of Lassur and Garanou, which border the village. Urs is crossed by the Aixat stream which marks the eastern border of the commune, which will then flow into the Ariège river. Formerly, the commune of Urs belonged to the Canton of Cabannes until 2015, and is now part of the Canton of Haute-Ariège.
You can discover various monuments there, such as its Romanesque churches of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul, the latter housing the town's war memorial, its XNUMXth century castle characterizing the ruins of the old castle of Urs on a hillock, near the church, and finally its other castle, from the XNUMXth century this time, the residence of the Marquis de Gudanes, after having had to leave the castle of Lordat.
