Escap'anes

Our farm is located in Roquefixade, on the territory of the Cathar Pyrenees, in a valley of luxuriant and healthy nature. We raise donkeys there for the pleasure of living near them and offer people the opportunity to hike in their pleasant company. Our day hikes:

Multi-day hikes - loop circuits starting from the farm:
Roquefixade - Plantaurel (medium limestone mountain maximum altitude: 1001m) Roquefixade - Montségur (Pyrenees foothills maximum altitude: 1320m).
Two formulas to choose from: comfort hike with nights in gite accommodation and guest rooms or nature hike with nights in tents (camping or bivouac depending on possibilities). Roquefort les Cascades and its petrifying waterfalls, the wonderful creations of the extraordinary garden of Lieurac and its small intimate campsite (Amaranthe), the Douctouyre river, the Péreille gorges and its high cliffs where the Egyptian vulture and peregrine falcon nest. Comfort hike of 2, 3 or 4 days with accommodationThe castle of Roquefixade on its rocky outcrop with a 360° view of the nearby Pyrenees and the plain in the distance, the Cathar trail and the hamlet of Coulzonne on a balcony facing the Pyrenean peaks, the village of Montferrier, its river Touyre and its forests.
The 4-day hike allows you to discover the lost hamlet of La Peyregade, its waterfall and the mysterious sacrificial stone. Easy walk in a very soft setting! Nights in tents at the campsite or bivouac, at the Roquefixade stopover gite.
The Cathar trail: from Roquefixade to Montségur and tour of the castle: comfortable hike of 5 or 6 days in accommodation. The castles of Roquefixade and Montségur, witnesses of the famous Cathar history, on their rocky outcrops with spectacular views of the Pyrenees, the plain and the country of Olmes. The Hers river coming out of the Frau gorges which will take you to the village of Fougax and Barrineuf. The Morenci cross and the unusual view of Montségur castle from the north with the Pyrenean peaks in the background. End of the hike in Villeneuve d'Olmes where we pick you up. The Cathar trail from Roquefixade to Montségur and grand tour of the castle:
6-day or 7-day comfort hike in accommodation (for good walkers as a 20km stage).
Identical route to the previous one with a 20km stage: the Frau gorges and its spectacular cliffs the pas de l'ours and its viewpoints over the Frau gorges and Montségur, the Languerail high plateau (1320m) , the forests of tall fir trees, the stream of the coalman, the river Hers to the village of Fougax and Barrineuf. Gite and bed and breakfast with the possibility of mixing gite and camping.
The Cathar trail: from Roquefixade to Montségur and tower of the castle:
nature hike of 5 to 7 days to see the famous citadel from all sides. The castles of Roquefixade and Montségur, witnesses of the famous Cathar history, on their rocky spurs with spectacular views of the Pyrenees, the plain and the Pays Olmes.
Grand natural and sporting tour of the Château de Montségur:
nature hike of 6 or 7 days to take to the open sea and height Route identical to the previous one with a 20km stage: the gorges of Frau and its spectacular cliffs, the pas de l'ours and its viewpoints over the gorges de la Frau and Montségur, the high plateau of Languerail (1320m), the forests of tall fir trees, the stream of the coalman, the river Hers to the village of Fougax and Barrineuf.
