Lieurac is a commune located in Ariège, in the Douctouyre valley. It belongs to the Community of Communes of the Pays d'Olmes. It has more than 200 inhabitants (source: census March 2020).

It is a village made up of several hamlets: Taychel, Gouziaud, Mane, Terrassa. Its center consists of an upper part where its church is perched and a lower part.

The village is bathed by two rivers, the Douctouyre and the Sautel stream, near which several hiking trails run.

Some writings confirmed by field observations show that on the site of the village, a castle was built, formerly a castle mound from the Middle Ages. Today, in the cemetery, one can contemplate a modest tuff block construction with Romanesque characteristics, an arch and semi-circular arch on a short column surmounted by a capital. It might be the original portal of the church, the style of which corresponds well to the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.
