Leaning against the foothills of Plantaurel, the village of Carla de Roquefort is built around a hillock at the top of which the church, a remodeled building, overlooks the Douctouyre gorges.

The ruins of Castelas castle and the remains of the rampart remind us of the feudal and warlike past of this territory.

The habitat of Carla de Roquefort is scattered over several hamlets: Neylis - Coulzonne - La Mécanique - La Verbe - La Fontaine - Le Barry - Jonnes - Moulin neuf - Domaine de La Ville. In the Middle Ages, Carla de Roquefort came under the lordship of Léran.
