The village church is attested in 1584. In 1649, Bishop Caulet requested its expansion to accommodate all the parishioners. The original entrance, now walled up, can be seen on the south facade, as well as a coat of arms of the Lévis.

Towards the end of the 1889th century, the framework of the nave was replaced by a wooden vault coated with painted plaster. The current access, opened in XNUMX, overlooking the square, dates from this work campaign. The wall bell tower narrows, by four successive tiers, to a point topped with a small cross. Three bays spread over two levels carry bells, one of which is decorated with fleurs-de-lis and religious representations.

However, the first church is that of the castle for the service of the garrison. A text from 1331 indicates that the patronage of the parish was granted exceptionally to a layman, the lord of Montségur, in recognition of the fact that his ancestors worked to combat heresy and provided for the needs of the parish.
