The PGHM is made up of an officer, 13 non-commissioned officers, 3 volunteer assistant gendarmes and Hanky ​​and Sony, the dogs.

In addition to the common initial training, the Gendarmerie platoon has in its ranks 4 High Mountain guides, a ski instructor, 3 mid-mountain guides, 4 first aid instructors, 5 canyoning state graduates, a state of speleology, a state certificate of swimming.
The PGHM is above all 14 gendarmes-rescuers, specialized in intervening in the mountains, picking up accident victims, lost people, anywhere and in all circumstances, 24 hours a day, all year round.
