Third part of the cycle: Discovering invisible worlds through the works of Nicolas Aguirre.

“Carpaccio” is an ongoing project that focuses on the relationship between art, science and craftsmanship. The project involves exploring the sculpture through different imaging techniques and observing the sculpture and painting from different points of view using x-ray, CT and MRI. In collaboration with Dr Alexandre Sadat, radiologist at the Alès imaging clinic. In order to develop the project in a common language we will develop a work protocol linked to sculpture and painting.

The project comes to me in the form of a dream, of a procession which, although it resembles the mortuary ritual, is different from it: “carpaccio” gives life and attempts to translate the soul thanks to plastic works which invite us to explore the deepest and most sensitive part of my body. Like archaeological research, a camera moves inside my body, discovering my organs, the shape of my bones, my muscles. Little by little a 3D body is born, me Nicolas Aguirre in the fetal position, connecting my mother's womb to my tomb from a past life. It's a black and white universe.
