This castle of the Counts of Foix was probably built at the end of the 12th century or the beginning of the 13th century when the counts regained authority over the Saurat valley.

We do not know when the site was abandoned but the ruins of the first floor of a beautiful rustic keep remain, the particularity of which is to be a spur tower, a rare form in the area. The surrounding wall of the fortress, however, is almost no longer visible, as are the buildings that were built inside. The panorama of the valley and the ruins of the Calamès castle (13th-15th century) is particularly impressive and worth the trip.
At the foot of the Tower, consolidated by village volunteers in July 2009, a panoramic orientation table and an explanatory panel make your visit to this site more pleasant.
