Fancy a good table, a big breath of fresh air with the added bonus stuning view on the most beautiful snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees? It is possible in Ariège, in Guzet, Ax-3-Domaines, Chioula, Plateau de Beille, or even at the Col de Port…

Our favorite spots to eat on the terrace or drink hot chocolate ☕️

Accessible to skiers and hikers alike altitude terraces of Ariège are an ode to disconnection and contemplation.

They are not only a feast for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes.

These altitude terraces promise to touch the peaks of Ariège, to experience a moment of respite, to enjoy the benefits of the altitude while spending a friendly moment of relaxation!

Chalet de Beauregard à Guzet

A ax-3-Domains

  • Louzat
View of the Pyrenees, it is on the terrace at Louzat that you can enjoy the best moments on the slopes. For skiers or pedestrians, the same program is offered to you: good dishes cooked with love and local products, or quite simply, a hot drink facing the slopes. An ideal moment of relaxation! ?

In Guzet

  • The Beauregard chalet
Very good restaurant in the middle of the ski slopes of Guzet. Typical Ariège dishes but also a special menu for skiers in a hurry. When it's sunny, you can eat on the terrace with a breathtaking view. On foot or by chairlift for the lazy, you can get to the mountain inn the Chalet de Beauregard. It is mountain cuisine with the flavors of the local terroir because here in Ariège, we eat well! No pizzas, frozen quiches, or fast food to satisfy skiers and hikers. Rather, French Ham and Vegetable Stew Ariège, trout with crayfish, gascon beeftartiflette ariégeoise, blanquette of local veal with porcini mushrooms, flambéed apple millas (excellent!)… all this served on the panoramic terrace. The chef only works with producers from neighboring valleys, that's what we like!

At the Col de Port

  • The inn of the Sapinière
For a warm moment facing the Col de Port and a view of the Tarascon and Massat valley, the Auberge de la Sapinière is the ideal place. Children can try their hand at tobogganing on the gentle slopes in front of the hostel, while parents can spend some time in the sun on the terraces enjoying a hot drink. On the catering side, the Auberge offers all typical Ariège products, with the added bonus of incomparable product quality. Do not miss it!

At Chioula

  • The Toqué Marmot
With its panoramic altitude terrace which offers an exceptional view of the Col du Chioula and the opportunity to disconnect from everyday life in a warm atmosphere.
  • Au Chioula refuge
Only 45 min walk from the pass, Alvaro and his team receive travelers in an exceptional and preserved setting! Meals are cooked with quality local products. The little extra for the greediest, their pastries are homemade! Perfect for taking a break in the sun and relaxing.
