Program
- 10 am: Visit of the village of Carla-Bayle and the Maison Pierre Bayle.
Discover the narrow streets of this charming village perched on its promontory: half-timbered houses, church and Protestant temple will amaze you in turn. The interpretation center is housed in the birthplace of the philosopher Pierre Bayle. It evokes the life of the philosopher, from his childhood in Carla to his death in exile in Rotterdam, as well as his intellectual and biographical journey, all against a background of constant and multiple religious repression which characterizes the reign of Louis XIV.
- 12 p.m.: Lunch in a restaurant by the lake.
Menu suggestion: Welcome Kir - Country terrine - Guinea fowl supreme and gratin dauphinois - Ariège cheese - gourmet tartlet of the moment - wine and coffee included.
- 15 p.m.: Guided tour of the Mas d'Azil cave.
Discover the first men. Your visit will begin with the 300m² interpretation centre: models and new virtual techniques will allow you to better understand the guided tour. Your guide will discuss in turn the formation of the cave, paleontology but especially prehistory.
- 16 p.m.: Self-guided tour of the prehistory museum at Mas d'Azil.
This museum allows you to discover collections of Magdalenian weapons and tools, but also many decorated objects including the reproduction of the famous propellant "The fawn with birds", as well as painted pebbles, characteristic of the Azilian period.
