Riding in the Cathar Pyrenees (7 days) – 9/13 years old

A children's camp with supervision approved by Jeunesse et Sport (a director, two activity leaders, and a state-qualified teacher), a real holiday camp centered on the theme of horses.

Organized into two groups: 9-11 years old and 11-13 years old and divided on horseback into groups of levels. Horse riding every day with a goal at the end of the week: a superb two-day ride to Lac de Montbel.

Accommodation on the equestrian center site under tent - UCPA comfort concept (Rooms for 4, individual beds and storage). Sanitary block and “hard” catering.

Program of the stay

Day 1

Children welcome on Sunday from 16 p.m. at the Soularac equestrian center site
The team of animators settles the children into the tented rooms (the children unpack their suitcases, we take inventory, we define the rules of life with the group and present the course of the stay)

Day 2

This morning, the instructor will put together the ideal rider/horse or rider/pony pairs. She will allow you to choose a horse or pony based on your wishes and your technique.
Each child keeps the same pony or horse for the whole week
Riding lessons in the arena in the morning to get to know your mount and discover horse riding techniques
In the afternoon, outdoor outing on a route around the equestrian center.

Day 3

Morning riding session in the riding arena or arena to perfect your technique and strengthen your balance
Afternoon walk on the path of the fountains or the Rouget walk

Day 4

We are leaving for a day hike to the medieval town of Mirepoix
We pass at the foot of the ruins of Quié and come across a few herds of cows before arriving at Mirepoix which we cross with our horses.
Picnic on the banks of the Hers and return by the greenway, an old railway line where we can do some paces

Day 5

This morning is the big departure for the two-day hike to Lake Montbel
We pass at the foot of magnificent castles, that of Lagarde and that of Léran
We follow the Touyre river where we give our horses a drink
Swimming and snacking at the lake
Meals and overnight stay in bivouac under tents
Trapper vigil

Day 6

After lunch and looking after our horses, we take a small winding path along the banks of the lake then cross the flowery village of Camon where we stop for a picnic.
Gallops on the greenway and crossing the Hers river on horseback
Care and last kiss to the horses
Overnight stay at the equestrian center and great musical evening

Day 7

Breakfast, storage of personal belongings
End of internship at 10 a.m.

Shuttle buses

Reception from 16 p.m. for arrivals by car
Shuttle to the nearest SNCF train station (depending on the hike – please contact us for the time and arrival station)
Free transfer from Pamiers train station in the late afternoon (depending on the hike – please contact us for the time and arrival station)
