On the rails of time

10h: The association "Rail Modélisme Ariégeois" presents to you in a passenger car specially equipped for this purpose its superb model "Rêve et Magie du Rail", an exceptional achievement at European level with the application of modern techniques, sound, light, animation and the quality of its decorations. Adjoining "Rêve et Magie du Rail", a post car used by former peddlers, which stopped traveling in 1991, and an ALSTOM BB 4736 locomotive, built in 1934, will remind you of a human adventure rich in events, near and already so far away. Finally an exhibition, entitled "from porterage on the backs of men to high-speed trains", will make you discover, in 20 paintings, the extraordinary history of land transport since Antiquity.

14h: On 13 hectares, relive prehistory, discover Cro-Magnon man and immerse yourself in the sources of his art. During the activity workshops, you will learn to hunt, carve flint, light a fire like 17000 years ago, dig like an archaeologist or even paint on the walls of a larger than life cave! The Grand Atelier, a 2500m2 museographic space will introduce you to the art of prehistory through films, objects and life-size replicas such as the reproduction of the Salon Noir of the Niaux cave, the "Niaux Interdit" and the cave of Marsoulas.

The Giants of the Ice Age": immersed in a real steppe landscape, you will discover the emblematic species of prehistory whose mere mention makes your imagination travel: cave lion, steppe bison, giant deer (megaloceros) or even , the most famous of them, the mammoth.Reconstructions, life-size and larger than life, will take you back in time and allow you to better understand these extinct species that lived alongside your distant ancestors.
