This circuit includes two Great Sites: the fortified city of Saint-Lizier on the Couserans side and the Mas d'Azil cave on the Plantaurel side. From Saint-Girons, you climb the slopes after Saint-Lizier, then change the atmosphere to walk through a royal forest of fir trees in the direction of Saint-Croix-de-Volvestre. You then go to the artists' village: Carla Bayle and the observatory in Sabarat. Crossing the exceptional Mas d'Azil cave is your next stop and the return via the Volvestre slopes will offer you a breathtaking view of the chain.
