Located in the Artiès valley above Auzat, the Izourt pond is a reservoir built at the end of the 30s. It takes you to a mountain setting, below the Fourcat ponds in the second stage. towards the summits approaching 3000 m.

1 - Departure

Park in the Pradières d'en haut car park after Artiès (small village after Auzat). This car park has a fairly large number of spaces. Pass in front of the power plant and join the crossroads of the paths at the level of the Artiés stream.

2 - Take the GR10

Take the GR®10 (marked out Red and White) on the left along the right bank of the stream. This fairly shaded path presents a fairly steep climb but without any real difficulty.

3 - Dam

You will thus reach the dike of the Izourt dam.

4 - For the return

You can go back the same way. You can also reach the left bank of the stream and go to the other side, passing under the dam. Cross the stream at the bottom of the water management hut (use the iron ladder) and reach the junction of the trails at the start.

5 - Arrival

Take the road back to the car park.
