In the aptly named "Petit Québec Ariégeois", a very nice family walk on a stony and rooty path requiring special attention, especially from the little ones. What a reward once you arrive at the splendid Laurenti pond.

Access Departure:
From Ascou-Pailhères, follow the direction of Mijanes by the D25. After the Pailhères pass and before the village of Mijanès, turn right on the La Bruyante forest road towards the Restanque car park, then continue to the car park and continue on your way to the Laurenti car park. This represents approximately 10 km and 30 minutes by car.

ATTENTION ! Clearly visible yellow signs are in place that say DO NOT PASS the forest road from Le Pla. But if you are already engaged on this forest track, at the beginning the road is extremely damaged with huge holes. The road is then more rolling. This represents approximately 8 km and 30 minutes by car.

1 - Departure of the hike

Take the path (GRP du tour du Pays du Donezan) starting between the fir trees and the beeches, leaving the stream on your left. The departure is smooth. But very quickly, the slope straightens up to a small clearing.
Cross a small stream and again, the slope is steady.
After a right-left bend, continue on the flat area to reach the Counc hut.

2 - COUNC HUT

Leave the Counc hut on your right and continue on the flat area.
At the end, a small steep path awaits you.
Once you have crossed this steep path, a beautiful view of the "Roc Blanc" is offered to you.
Only a few minutes left between the pines and a small scree to cross and here you are at the Laurenti.

3 - LAURENTIAN POND

You can walk around the pond.
The return takes the same path to the Forestier refuge car park.
