Refuge of Bassiès

The shelter is closed for the winter. A part remains open with 10 mattresses and a table. Thank you to hikers for respecting the area. Users must have all their equipment, sleeping bag, stove, food, headlamp, etc. The phone does not go through. It is therefore difficult to contact emergency services.

Reception: 54 people - 8 dormitories - blankets - duvet recommended in winter and sheets in summer -

Services: catering; drinks ; packed lunch to be reserved. Grocery store for GR10 hikers. Sale of fishing license

Itinerary:

On the GR 10, between Aulus les Bains and Marc, it is located at the foot of the Pic de Cabanatous, next to the ponds of Bassiès, facing the magnificent granitic cirque of the Pique Rouge - 2676 m. Fishing in lakes and streams.

By the Auzat valley, from the car park of the Massada or from the doggies or from the village of Saleix.

Via the Aulus-les-Bains valley, from the Coumebière car park, following the GR10. Beautiful panorama with a view of the row of lakes from the port of bassiès.

Excursions: Pique Rouge de Bassiès, Pic de Belcaire and Artigue valley, Pic du Far and pond of Legunabens, peak of Cabanatous, pond of Alate, port of Saleix, Mont Ceint, Port of Lers
