Carla's Orris

Before the dam was built, this area was occupied by many families throughout the summer season. However, there are still orris in perfect conservation since a rehabilitation campaign made it possible to restore an entire village which explains the functions of each orri. You will easily find them a few dozen meters from the Carla car park after the Soulcem dam. You will also find more important information on pastoralism at the Heritage House in Auzat. There is a book called orris written by Jean Besset on sale at the Ariège Pyrenees tourist office.
