Jean-Paul Tisseyre is an artisan cutler from Ariége who is passionate about his beautiful profession. Born in Ariège at the foot of the Pyrenees, it was quite naturally there that he chose to open his artistic cutlery workshop in his native village of La Bastide sur l'Hers.

Getting a knife stamped Tisseyre is the certainty of owning a unique piece. A work for which each component has been thought out, designed and entirely manufactured by the French cutlery artisan Jean-Paul Tisseyre. Always in search of excellence and innovation. In 2000, he filed a patent for an invention that incorporated the locking mechanism into the heel of the blade. A first in the world of cutlery! Then a second patent was filed three years later.

Between 1999 and 2008, he was present alongside the biggest names in the profession at international meetings in Paris, Thiers and Milan. He obtains many prizes at these fairs. He was elevated to the title of "Maestro" by the Italian cutlery guild.

Since obtaining his title "One of the Best Craftsmen of France" in 2007, on the strength of all this very enriching human experience, he decided in 2008 to stop his participation in international fairs and launched the challenge of bringing to his workshop shop in La Bastide sur l'Hers in Ariège this national and international clientele of lovers of high-end utility or collectible knives. No need to go to Milan or Paris, Jean-Paul Tisseyre welcomes you to his artistic cutlery in Occitania all year round. His notoriety attracts many knife enthusiasts to La Bastide sur l'Hers, to admire his original creations or to order a particular custom-made work. Today, we can say that the bet is won, Jean-Paul can live fully from his art and take time for his other passion, woodcock hunting, a luxury. He is the happiest of men.

On Jean Paul Tisseyre's business card, there are two of the most prestigious titles or labels, the "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" and "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" rare are the French cutlers to have obtained these two distinctions. Member of the French Cutlery Federation.
