The Maison des Patrimoines presents the history of men and women who lived in a typical valley of Haute Ariège, the Vicdessos Valley.

The Maison des Patrimoines located in Auzat, presents the history of the men and women who lived in a remote valley of Haute-Ariège, the Vicdessos valley.

We discover the strong characters of their history through the heritage and landscapes that can be admired today. 3 permanent exhibition rooms deal with subjects such as pastoralism, industrialization (Rancié iron mine and history of aluminum in Pechiney), industrial decline, and the evolution towards tourism. Archeology is also discussed, with the presentation of the excavations of the Château de Montréal-de-Sos in Olbier.

From the Maison des Patrimoines there are also many free or commented tours, in particular to the Château de Montréal-de-Sos, the Chemin de l'aluminium, or that of Mémoires d'Izourt towards the Izourt dam. The Maison des Patrimoines is also the House of the Regional Natural Park of the Ariège Pyrenees.

Many events, conferences, activities for groups or individuals are organized throughout the year.

Currently, the Heritage House hosts

. The iron route in the Pyrenees, traveling exhibition around the industrial heritage related to the steel industry in the Pyrenees, presenting the most remarkable sites of this industry in the Principality of Andorra, Catalonia, Basque Country, Ariège and Aquitaine.

Many free or guided tours also leave from the Maison des Patrimoines, notably to the Château de Montréal-de-Sos, the aluminum path, or that of Memoires d'Izourt towards the Izourt dam, or the path miners from Rancié.

The Maison des Patrimoines is also the House of the Regional Natural Park of the Pyrenees Ariégeoises.
