The Maison des Patrimoines presents the history of men and women who lived in a typical valley of Haute Ariège, the Vicdessos Valley.

The Maison des Patrimoines located in Auzat, presents the history of the men and women who lived in a remote valley of Haute-Ariège, the Vicdessos valley.
We discover the strong characters of their history through the heritage and landscapes that can be admired today.
3 permanent exhibition rooms deal with subjects such as pastoralism, industrialization (Rancié iron mine and history of aluminum in Pechiney), industrial decline, and the evolution towards tourism.
Archeology is also discussed, with the presentation of the excavations of the Château de Montréal-de-Sos in Olbier.
From the Maison des Patrimoines there are also many free or commented tours, in particular to the Château de Montréal-de-Sos, the Chemin de l'aluminium, or that of Mémoires d'Izourt towards the Izourt dam.
The Maison des Patrimoines is also the House of the Regional Natural Park of the Pyrenees Ariégeoises.
