Quérigut is the largest village in Donezan, and is even its capital, built at the foot of the keep. Quérigut is the main town of this small Ariège territory isolated from the rest of the department. The highest point of the village is almost 135 m above sea level on the Pic de Ginèvre. You can discover the Etang de Quérigut, a natural lake nestled on the opposite side of the ski resort of Puyvalador at an altitude of 60 m, as well as the very famous Château de Quérigut, located on a rocky peak in the center of the village and of which there remains today only a massive tower in ruins, which was the old keep.
