The knights of the castle of Lordat were accused of crimes of heresy for their support of the last resistant Cathars of Montségur in 1244.

Culminating at an altitude of 965 m and offering a unique panorama over the valley, this fortress stands as a flagship of the historical heritage of the Ariège Pyrenees.
