The Romanesque cathedral dedicated to Saint-Lizier is remarkable for its chevet made up of a multitude of Gallo-Roman re-uses; once inside, let yourself be transported through the ages.
Cathedral of Saint-Lizier

Saint-Lizier Cathedral, recognizable by its "Toulouse" style bell tower, will transport you to different eras, the 1080th century, firstly through its Romanesque frescoes which have decorated the choir since 1960. They were discovered at the end of the XNUMXs and are among the most imposing ensembles in the Pyrenees.
The transept and nave were built in the 14th century. In each arm of the transept you can see two remarkable altarpieces dating from the 18th century.
At the end of the nave opposite the entrance door, a wooden door will allow you to access the cloister.
The cathedral is open to the public, but guided tours are offered by the tourist office during school holidays.
